Our Story

I believe my love for interior design started in my early childood, I just didn't know what it was then. I would always find myself rearranging furniture in our house and taking interest in different textures and materials used in spaces around me.

I enjoyed a successful career as an Analyst, but had a growing feeling that there was a different purpose for me in this world. It was only when I started renovating our first home, which was sold in just a few days after it was put on the market, that I realised my passion for designing interiors. I decided to enroll for an Interior Design Diploma, which I completed successfully. During the course of my studies, I renovated our second home using some of the new skills that I had learned. After completing my home renvation and my Diploma, I started getting small projects from family and friends who loved my work.

The positive feedback I received encouraged me to start my own self-named Interior Design business called Amukelani Xaba (AX) Interiors. I am confident that the AX brand will grow in leaps and bounds to become one of the best interior design brands in the industry.

Personally I like to design spaces that are timeless and functional, with simplicity being an important element of my design principles. I describe my style as classic meets Contemporary. But, what I enjoy most is helping my clients discover their own style. After all, a home should always reflect tastes and lifestyle of the poeple who live in it. Otherwise it will never feel like home.
